Meet the Team Behind ARDHI

I will never forget the smell of burning plastic and despair during the Kitezi landfill fire. Walking through the surrounding communities, I saw mothers fearful for their children’s health, elders who felt abandoned, and youth with no hope in a system that had failed them. That moment made it clear: these crises were not isolated — they were connected. Poor land governance forced vulnerable families near hazardous sites. Weak waste management poisoned water and soil. A lack of disaster preparedness left everyone exposed. From that realization, ARDHI was born — not just as a protest, but as a proposition: that law, policy, and empowered communities could build resilience and justice together. Today, ARDHI stands as a bridge between grassroots struggles and national policy, fighting for a Uganda where every community is protected, every farmer is resilient, and every child can inherit a healthier future.
